The Transportation business covers all aspects of multidisciplinary design and management, from inception and options appraisal through to detailed design and delivery/construction support. It is our centre of excellence for the design of roads and rail infrastructure projects. We aim to be the first-choice designer for local and national roads authorities, contractors, and developers.

 

Summary:

To meet our growth ambitions, we are seeking an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer to support in our delivery of a significant portfolio of construction projects in Gloucestershire.  You will be working on some of the key highway infrastructure projects within Gloucestershire as part of our Gloucestershire Highways Commission.

To get the most out of this opportunity we would expect ambitious, focused, and determined individuals to support a range of Infrastructure projects, ranging from small to large in scale.

You will be based in in our integrated Gloucester office with the Client, but there will be a need to visit site locations throughout Gloucestershire.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Involvement through all stages of geotechnical schemes including monitoring inspections of geotechnical defects, report writing (PSSR’s, GIR’s etc.) and undertaking design and assessment calculations.
  • Preparation of CDM documentation.
  • Supporting the project management of schemes.
  • Maintaining and developing excellent Client relationships.
  • Support the development of more junior staff through technical training and mentoring.

 

Key requirements:

  • BSc, BEng, MEng, or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable progression towards professional body recognition, such as with the ICE or Geological Society.
  • Experience of working with our key clients, e.g., Local Authorities, National Highways, Developers and/or major Contractors.
