The Transportation business covers all aspects of multidisciplinary design and management, from inception and options appraisal through to detailed design and delivery/construction support. It is our centre of excellence for the design of roads and rail infrastructure projects. We aim to be the first-choice designer for local and national roads authorities, contractors, and developers.

 

Summary:             

To meet our growth ambitions, we are seeking Assistant NEC Site Supervisors to support in our delivery of a significant portfolio of construction projects in Gloucestershire.

This would be your first step in your career development within Civil Engineering and you would be part of a team delivering a significant portfolio of construction projects in Gloucestershire. You will be working on highway projects being delivered under the Atkins Local Authority Framework Contract for Gloucestershire County Council and will receive training and mentoring from Senior Site Supervisors and Project Managers to equip you to fulfil this role and quickly progress to running your own projects.  A structured training plan will be in place to provide successful applicants with the knowledge, skills, and experience to meet this objective.

You will be based in site offices throughout Gloucestershire and occasionally in our integrated Gloucester office with the Client.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as Supervisor during the Construction phase, as described under the NEC suite of contracts or other form of contract.
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of quality control and supervision is maintained for each project, and assessing contract implementation with due regard to highway, health and safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Support the nominated NEC Project Manager by ensuring that the standards of work and the materials supplied by Contractor are as specified in accordance with the Works Information and acting on delegated authority from the NEC Project Manager.
  • Maintain records and data, operate, and maintain information systems and undertake general administrative tasks.

 

Key requirements:

  • HNC, BEng, MEng, or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • A strong desire to work towards relevant professional qualifications with the ICE, CIHT or CIOB, and a site-based engineering career.
  • Knowledge of the application of CDM regulations and management of health and safety related obligations.
