GIS Technician

GIS Technician Leeds,
6 Month Contract to Perm
£14.87 per hour, via umbrella

company Excellent opportunity for entry level GIS Technicians to join a growing team and gain commercial experience, we are looking for candidates with an interest in geography, geology, environmental science, map reading or mapping along with skills in MS Excel Duties to include:

• GIS Digitisation using ESRI ArcGIS, Caris Base Editor, QGIS or other GIS software.
• Interpretation of Satellite Imagery, aerial photography, bathymetric survey data, electronic navigational charts or other source imagery and data.
• Preparing and analysing incoming source data.
• Handling and interpretation of confidential information.
• Creation and update of digital map databases and products.
• Carrying out tasks required of the project, within the time restraints and to specification.
• Providing information on project/task status to your line manager, and completion of timesheets/MIS software, as required. • General duties required by the project, including packaging, upload and dispatch of products.
• Participating fully in any training offered to ensure that knowledge remains current and relevant.
