Up to £60,000 p/a

We are looking for a dynamic, charismatic Project Manager with a high level of competence in delivering highway engineering projects to join our practice in Chelmsford or Cambridge (you will be required to spend a minimum of 2 days a week in the office, preferably more). You will be working on projects and portfolios with fee levels typically within the range of £50k to £2.5M.

 

About the role:

You will provide project management support and guidance to clients, other managers and team members delivering optimised delivery solutions, making optimum use of technical and other specialists.

You Will:

  • Deliver highway infrastructure projects using appropriate controls and software in accordance with Atkins Technical Assurance protocols.
  • Manage project relationships (Clients, internal and external stakeholders, 3rd party suppliers and delivery teams).
  • Generate and/or agree the scope of works and budgets with Clients.
  • Produce and work to project schedules, establishing budgets and monitoring actual delivery against baseline using Earned Value Analysis and/or other techniques.
  • Implement effective change control, agreeing variations with Clients.
  • Risk management and problem solving.
  • Following quality, safety, security, and environmental processes.
  • Using standard contract models as used in civil engineering projects (such as NEC 4).
  • Lead diverse delivery teams, creating an environment to motivate individuals and ensure effective teamwork.
  • Co-ordination of the Technical services being provided by all parties.

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Have a highway engineering background with an understanding of the engineering aspects of delivering highway projects.
  • Have excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence others.
  • Have a track record of delivering schemes to time and budget.
  • Have the ability and the desire to pull together, coach and develop multidisciplinary project delivery teams.
  • Have awareness of the CDM Regulations and the other legal and regulatory frameworks associated with highways projects in the UK.
  • Can demonstrate experience of successfully operating within a target driven environment with an ability to work under pressure.
  • Can evidence your ability to delight your clients.
  • A degree in civil engineering and ability to use of P6/MS Project or similar project controls/project scheduling tools would be an advantage.
