Property Register Project
Thursday, July 18, 2024
Our client, a specialist property and land transaction company, works with the UK government and local authorities to maintain accurate and reliable land and property ownership databases. These databases hold details about land ownership status and charges and are a critical component of the property purchasing and conveyance process in England and Wales.
Problem:
Historically, each local authority in England and Wales was responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all property records within their region. However, since 2018 responsibility for property registers has become centralised with the UK Government. Historically, each register was maintained separately, resulting in structurally inconsistent data of varying quality. A large-scale data transformation programme was initiated to standardise, cleanse, and enrich the data. In total, 331 registers will be transferred and standardised. These registers include every property and land parcel across England and Wales.
How we did it:
Our client was selected to work on the project due to their specific land transaction experience. They chose Kinect as their resourcing partner due to our vast expertise in GIS and geospatial data projects. The project aims to verify and consolidate property data into the Ordnance Survey standard format with the work undertaken on bespoke GIS-based comparison software. Kinect was responsible for identifying and selecting the best candidates for all project roles. This involved full interview and technical skill verification, UK right-to-work validation, staff onboarding and initial support.
Outcome:
This ongoing project will deliver faster and more cost-effective conveyancing and property transaction processes at the national level. Project delivery is on time and within budget.
Achievements:
